The Phoenix Roadrunners were a professional ice hockey team that originally played in the Western Hockey League (WHL) from 1967 to 1974. Prior to that, they played in British Columbia as the Maple Leafs. In 1974, the WHL ceased operations, and the Roadrunners became part of the World Hockey Association (WHA). In 1977, the organization folded at the end of its third season for financial reasons.
