A. Zito & Sons Bakery opened on Bleecker Street in 1924. The bakery was well known for their delicious, crusty wheat bread, a staple at any Italian family’s Sunday dinner. The little storefront at 259 Bleecker Street had a front window filled with loaves of Zito’s famous bread. After 80 years, Zito's closed its doors in 2004.
