Boblo Island

Boblo Island, officially known as Bois Blanc Island, holds a cherished place in the hearts of many who experienced its magic. Located in the Detroit River, this amusement park opened in 1898 and quickly became a beloved destination for generations of families. Visitors would embark on a scenic boat ride from Detroit or Amherstburg, Canada, to reach the island, making the journey part of the adventure. Boblo Island was home to numerous attractions, including the thrilling Screamer roller coaster, the elegant Dance Pavilion, and the iconic Ferris wheel. Although the park closed its doors in 1993, the memories of sunny days, laughter, and the excitement of Boblo Island live on.
