Opening in 1980, Lucky Number Club 950 was the best place for independent dance music in Chicago. For over two decades, Club 950 Lucky Number established itself as one of the premiere alternative clubs way before “alternative” became a buzzword in the early 1990s. Named after its address, Club 950 held its own against stiff competition. Different nights featured different music, depending on which day of the week it was. Club 950 closed in 1999.
