Fotomat, founded in 1965, was a chain of photo development drive-through kiosks located primarily in shopping center parking lots. In the early 1980s, there were over 4,000 Fotomat locations throughout the United States. suburban areas. Fotomat was purchased by Konica Photo Imaging and later Viewpoint Corporation in 2002. Fotomat would eventually switch to digital imaging. In 2009, Fotomat ceased operations.
