Gold Circle

Gold Circle, a discount department store chain, was founded in 1967 in Columbus, Ohio, and was a division of Federated Department Stores. Gold Circle was promoted as a more-upscale retailer with "wide aisles" and "sparkling, sprawling, super-size stores" that carried nothing but quality merchandise. After Federated Department Stores were acquired by the Campeau Corporation, Gold Circle would be liquidated in 1988.
