The Houston Gamblers were a professional football team that played in the United States Football League (USFL) in 1984 and 1985. The Gamblers, known for their Run & Shoot offense and led by quarterback Jim Kelly, broke the leagues single season scoring record by scoring 618 points in 1984. Kelly also held the league passing record in 1984, throwing for over 5,000 yards. The team folded after the 1985 season when the USFL ceased operations.
