The Sail Inn was opened in 1990 by owner Gina Lombardi when the property was known as Last Chance Lounge. A nautical-themed joint that had fish art and employees dressed in captain's hats soon became a staple of Tempe. Where many others tried and failed, The Sail Inn developed a word-of-mouth following among the diehard drinkers and local musicians. After a 24 year run The Sail Inn closed in 2014.
