Smith Bros. Fish Shanty Coaster

Opened in 1950, Fish Shanty was located in the heart of Restaurant Row, at La Cienega and Fourth, in Los Angeles. Owned by the Smith Brothers, Fish Shanty was known to Los Angeles residents as "that place where you walk in through the whale’s mouth." If you did, you got pretty good seafood and cocktails served in a unique marine setting. The restaurant closed in 1988. Other locations were in Walteria, California, and Port Washington, Wisconsin.
