Sound Exchange

Sound Exchange was a record store and a big part of Austin’s music scene, located at 2100 Guadalupe St. Not only was it a record store, but they also hosted live shows. Sound Exchange was well known for its frog mural painted on the side of the building that greets all who pass by. Although Sound Exchange closed its doors in 2003, the mural still remains. In 2018, Austin’s Mayor Steve Adler declared January 22 to be "Hi, How Are You" Day in an effort to celebrate mental wellness.
